Moral Perfection

Moral perfection is attained by the way of independent, intricate work on oneself, by inner warfare, deprivations, and especially self-humiliation. The Orthodox Christian who sincerely and heartily fulfills the spiritual discipline has by that very act already completed a significant part of that podvig, because our discipline is all so formed that it serves for the gradual mortification of the passions and the acquisition of blessed perfection.
